Beer with Alvarinho grapes wins a silver medal in an international competition.
It was in Barcelona that Letra beer put Minho on the world brewing map, winning a silver medal with a beer with grapes from the Alvarinho variety, a beer produced in partnership with winemaker Anselmo Mendes.
Cerveja Letra participates in the Barcelona Beer Challenge international competition since 2017 where, until now, it was awarded in the last 4 editions with seven medals in different categories.
Filipe Macieira, co-founder of Letra, says that this year the award has a very special flavor as it was the most competitive year ever with 1251 beers in competition and brands from 20 countries.
Francisco Pereira, co-founder together with Filipe, also refers to the importance of this award for the region and for the country, since the beer that won the silver medal is the “Letra & Anselmo Mendes – Alvarinho Grape Ale Barrel Agedin other words, a beer produced with grapes of the Alvarinho variety that aged in oak barrels for 7 months. from the Vinho Verde region, Anselmo Mendes.
Cerveja Letra's factory is located in Vila Verde and is currently undergoing minimal services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however maintaining its online sales channel fully operational with the launch of new beers frequently and with guaranteed deliveries nationwide.
